No, the big news isn't two blog posts in one day....
It is certainly big news for us that I have chosen to change careers and finally follow my heart to be a teacher! I've accepted a position as an 8th grade math and science teacher at an area charter school starting in TWO WEEKS. I am also admitted to a teaching program for Alternative Licensure, which I will start in August. It's a huge change and will be a challenge for me to say the least. This isn't a new thing though - I was just a semester shy from completing a science teaching certificate program at Purdue when I moved back to Colorado.
So, after 10 years and 1 month at Northern Trust, I gave my notice yesterday. It was a surreal experience to resign from somewhere where I have learned so much. I was 24 and single when I started there - I really have grown up there! I'll always treasure my experience at Northern and the amazing people I worked with over the many years. And, true to form, my partners there have rallied around me with support and encouragement of my decision. Nathan and Chuck think it's pretty cool, too. :)

I think it's pretty cool too!!! Way to go Katie. You will be a wonderful teacher. Congratulations on having the guts to make the career change. Did I want to be a supervisor for AAA when I grew up? Uh, I don't think it was on my list. But it was just easier to stay put and collect the nice salary. Now you will be doing something you love. So proud of you.
So Awesome!!! Knock 'em dead woman! We are all very proud of you!
